KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The honors keep coming for Seattle Pacific men's soccer players Tyler Schultz and Jon Pearman, who on Friday were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America team for NCAA Division II competitors.

Schultz was named to the first team and Pearman was a second-team selection.

Both Falcons were recognized earlier this month as first-team members of the Daktronics All-America squad compiled by sports information directors.

A senior from Scottsdale, Ariz., Schultz scored 16 goals and assisted on three others to lead the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with 35 points. He was honored as the 2011 GNAC and West Region Player of the Year.

Schultz' 16 goals equal the highest single-season output by an SPU player since 1993. Eight of his scoring strikes were game-winning goals for the Falcons, who finished the season with a 14-4-2 record.

The SPU men made their first playoff appearance since 2006 and notched a 2-1 overtime win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in the opening round. The Falcons lost 3-2 to Cal State L.A. in the West Region championship game.

Schultz completed his career with 38 goals, the ninth-highest figure among all-time SPU scorers.

Pearman, a junior from Glendale, Ariz., anchored a Falcons defense that allowed just 18 goals in 20 games and produced a mid-season streak of six straight shutouts. He was named the 2011 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year.

The SPU duo will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held in the Kansas City Convention Center's Grand Ballroom on Saturday, Jan. 14, in conjunction with the 2012 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.

The NSCAA is the largest soccer coaches' organization in the world. Since its founding in 1941, the organization has grown to include more than 30,000 members who coach both genders at all levels of the sport.

The NSCAA fulfills its mission of coaching education through a nationwide program of clinics and week-long courses, teaching more than 6,000 soccer coaches each year.
