• 2012 Daktronics All-West Region team
HILO, Hawaii -- Seattle Pacific senior forward
Megan Lindsay received All-West Region recognition for the third consecutive year and freshman
Shayla Page was also honored when the 2012 Daktronics NCAA Division II regional awards were released.
That duo helped the Falcons (15-4-2) qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament for the 10th straight season. SPU posted a 1-0 opening-round victory over BYU-Hawaii before losing 2-1 in overtime at fifth-ranked UC San Diego.
Both honored Falcons were first-team All-GNAC selections who hail from high schools in the state of Washington.
A graduate of Spokane's Gonzaga Prep High School, Lindsay topped the GNAC with 12 goals, including four game-winning strikes. She led the league with 28 points, a figure that includes four assists.
Lindsay was a first-team pick on the Daktronics team while Page garnered second-team honors.
Page, who prepped at Eastlake High School in Redmond, was the only freshman named to the All-GNAC team. She anchored the SPU defense that shutout eight opponents and surrendered just 17 goals, an average of 0.78 per game.
Lindsay, along with the region's other first-team honorees, will be included on the Daktronics national ballot for the All-America team that will be released on Nov. 28.
