ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Seattle Pacific senior defender
Jon Pearman received All-West Region recognition for the third consecutive year when the 2012 Daktronics NCAA Division II men's soccer regional awards were announced.
Pearman helped the Falcons (11-3-5) qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament for the second straight season. SPU tied Cal State L.A. 1-1 in the opening round before losing 5-4 in the penalty-kick tiebreaker.
A graduate of Cactus High School in Glendale, Ariz., Pearman anchored a defense that shut out eight opponents and surrendered less than one goal per game.
Pearman has twice been voted the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defender of the Year, in 2011 and 2012.
A first-team All-American in 2011, he earned all-conference recognition in each of the last three seasons. He was a second-team all-region selection in 2010 and garnered first-team acclaim the last two years.
Pearman, along with the region's other first-team honorees, will be included on the Daktronics national ballot for the All-America team that will be released on Nov. 28.
