Seven-Game Spring Soccer Slate for SPU Men

Falcons host three games at home in Interbay Stadium

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Pacific men's soccer team advanced to the West Region championship game of the 2011 NCAA Division II Tournament. The Falcons begin preparations for another playoff pursuit in 2012 with a challenging seven-game spring schedule.

SPU hosts three of the games on home turf at at Interbay Stadium. There is no admission charged for any home games during the spring.

The spring exhibition season begins at home on April 7 against NCAA Division I power Portland. Kick-off is 2 p.m. at Interbay.

The next three games are on the road, starting with a 1 p.m. contest on April 14 at Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C.

A pair of road games await the Falcons on April 21 in Portland. They clash with Pac-12 member Oregon State at 11 a.m. before meeting NAIA competitor Concordia (Ore.) University at 12:30 p.m.

Crosstown rival Seattle University, now a Division I member, visits Interbay Stadium on April 25 for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

SPU makes the crosstown trek to the University of Washington on April 28 for a 7 p.m. encounter at Husky Soccer Field.

The Falcons conclude the spring session at Interbay Stadium with their annual Alumni Game on May 5 at 7 p.m.



The spring training schedule prepares the Falcons for the upcoming fall campaign.

Coach Mark Collings directed the SPU men to a 14-4-2 record in 2011. They made their first playoff appearance since 2006 and notched a 2-1 overtime win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in the opening round. The Falcons lost 3-2 to Cal State L.A. in the West Region championship game.
