SEATTLE -- SEATTLE -- The Seattle Pacific women's soccer team annually faces an ambitious schedule of spring opponents. The Falcons have taken it to an even higher level this year as they will face a number of U.S. National Team members in their first of six exhibition outings.
SPU visits the Starfire Sports Stadium in Tukwila, Wash. on Monday, April 9 for a 7:30 p.m. clash against the Seattle Sounders Women of the W-League.
The Sounders roster features five National Team players, including goalkeeper
Hope Solo, a University of Washington product with 112 caps to her credit. She is expected to be in goal against SPU and could be joined on the field by Team USA members
Stephanie Cox,
Sydney Leroux,
Alex Morgan and
Megan Rapinoe.

The following four Falcons games are all against NCAA Division I opponents, beginning with an April 14 visit to the University of Portland at 2 p.m.
The lone spring home game for SPU is against Portland State on April 21. Kick off is 2 p.m. at
Interbay Stadium and admission is free.
On April 27 the SPU women visit Pac-12 power Washington for a 7 p.m. encounter at Husky Soccer Field.
The spring session concludes on May 5 with two games at Championship Field on the Seattle University campus. SPU plays an Alumni Game at 10 a.m. before meeting the host Redhawks at noon.
The spring training schedule prepares the Falcons for the upcoming fall campaign. Last season, SPU (17-3) won its third consecutive Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship and qualified for the NCAA Division II Tournament for the ninth straight season.
The Falcons registered a 4-0 opening-round victory over Grand Canyon before losing 2-1 to Cal State L.A. in the West Region semifinal.
Chuck Sekyra directed SPU into the playoffs in each of his nine seasons as head coach, including a national championship performance in 2008.
