Assistant Coaches

7306Lindsey Wodrich
After starring on the court for four years and graduating from Seattle Pacific in 2012, Lindsey Wodrich begins her second season as the lead assistant coach on Chris Johnson’s staff.

Wodrich was an outside hitter who helped the Falcons qualify for three straight trips to the NCAA Division II West Regionals, a stretch that went from 2009 through 2011. The 2010 team went 26-3 and made the program’s first-ever appearance in the West Regional championship match.

In 330 total games through her four seasons, Wodrich racked up 1,041 kills, ranking No. 5 on Seattle Pacific’s career list in that category. She finished with 1,212 points (kills-service aces-blocks), making her one of just six Falcons in the 29-year history of the program to top 1,000 kills and 1,000 points for her career. Defensively, Wodrich came up with 907 digs and 115 total blocks. She totaled 35 kill-dig double-doubles for her career.

Wodrich, a native of Richland in the Tri-Cities area of south central Washington, earned her SPU degree in Family & Consumer Sciences, with an emphasis on apparel design.

3660Kin Yun
Kin Yun is starting his seventh season at Seattle Pacific -- and he definitely is a long way from home. Yun is a native of Quincy, Mass., and graduated from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H., with a business administration degree in 2004.

As a player for the NCAA Division III school in Nashua, N.H., Yun could put the ball down or set it up. He was the first player in school history to have 1,000 career kills, and is still the only Rivier player to finish with more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 assists. Yun also served as an assistant coach at Rivier for one season. He was inducted into the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Hall of Fame in 2010.

Yun was the New England Player of the Year for high school boys volleyball as a senior at North Quincy, and was a three-time all-conference player. He currently coaches with Club Wahine in Seattle. Yun would like to visit China with his parents to get a better understanding of their childhood and visit the village in which they grew up.

6480Carolyn Farny
Carolyn Farny is in her second year as a volunteer assistant coach for the Falcons. However, she brings ample coaching experience to the team. The native of Fort Wayne, Ind., is a graduate of the University of Washington. She has coached for various periods of time since 2002, having worked at UW camps and also with the Seattle-based Cascade Volleyball Club.

At Concordia Lutheran High School, Farny was named the Fort Wayne Volleyball Player of the Year as a senior, and was a two-time Indiana All-State selection. She also made her mark as a basketball player and as a student. On the court, she set school records for most rebounds in a season and career. In the classroom, she earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

Farny then headed west to join the Huskies, and was on the 2005 team that won the NCAA national championships. She has lived in Switzerland for six months as an au pair. In addition to volleyball, Farny enjoys watching football and gymnastics.
