Suzanna Ohlsen

During her four years at Seattle Pacific, Suzanna Ohlsen was a star both on the basketball court and in the classroom. Now, she is back as an assistant coach in 2016-17.

Ohlsen played in the pivotal point guard spot for the Falcons from 2011-15, helping the team reach four consecutive Great Northwest Athletic Conferenc tournaments, and qualify for the 2015 NCAA West Regionals, reaching the semifinal round.

As a senior in 2014-15, Ohlsen was named an honorable mention All-American by both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and the Division II Bulletin publication. She also was an All-GNAC 1st teamer and a Daktronics All-West Region 2nd team selection during her senior year, when she averaged a career-high 17.7 points per game.

But Ohlsen was known just as well for her academic accomplishments. In 2015, she was named the Academic All-America of the Year for DIvision II women's basketball by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Other academic award she garnered during that senior years were CoSIDA Academic All-America 1st team,  the GNAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Seattle Pacific's C. Clifford McCrath 101 Club Female Scholar-Athlete Award, and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The biochemstry major went through all four years with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
