Falcons Top Saint Martin's 4-2

SEATTLE (Oct. 16) - The Seattle Pacific University men's soccer team beat Saint Martin's University 4-2 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game Tuesday night at Interbay Stadium.  The Falcons (7-3-5) have won their last three home games, out-scoring opponents 14-3 in the process. 

Corey Sinser put SPU on the board in the 15th minute when he stripped a Saint's defender and calmly lofted a shot over Zac Lubin.

Brendon Cloyd made it 2-0 just five minutes later when he ran onto a thru ball from defender Matt Kemper and slotted the ball in from 15 yards out.

Victor Kelmel brought the Saints back to within one in the 31st minute, rocketing a shot past the out-stretched arm of Falcon goalie Kellen Rosten from 30 yards out.

The Falcons extended their lead in the second half when Alec Nelson corralled a rebound and ripped a shot into the upper left corner.

Jeff Hallenbeck made it 4-1 Falcons, converting a penalty kick in the 67th minute for his team leading seventh goal of the year. 

SPU outshot the Saint Martin's 15-5 on the night.  Lubin finished with 4 saves while Rosten finished with one.

The Falcons are at home again this Friday to play Western Washington at 7:00.
