SEATTLE (JAN 10) - Daesha Henderson intercepted a pass at half court with 15 seconds remaining, allowing the Seattle Pacific University women's basketball team to run out the remaining ticks on the clock, squelching Sheena Brown and the University of Alaska Fairbanks women's basketball team's second half rally in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference basketball game Thursday night at Brougham Pavilion, winning by a final score of 68-60.

The Falcons (3-0 GNAC, 12-0), led by 20 at halftime and as many as 24 at one point, but Brown single handedly brought the Nanooks (0-3 GNAC, 7-4) back into the ballgame, scoring 19 of her game high 23 points in the second half. Brown hit three three-pointers, and had two steals in the half, but it was not enough to break SPU's perfect season record.

Megan Hoisington came off the bench to score all 10 of her points in the second half, aided by a perfect 6-6 shooting from the charity line. Henderson led the Falcons with 13 points four assists and amassed four steals as well, despite shooting a mere 1-6 from behind the arc.

Joining Hoisington and Henderson in scoring double-digits were Jessie Christensen (10 pts, five rbs), Jackie Hollands (11pts, five steals), and Kelsey Hill, who had a double-double on the evening,  scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

UAF had only Kari Reabold score in double digits as well, netting 10 points and eight boards against a stiff SPU defense.

SPU's bench outscored UAF's 28-12, and the Falcons as a whole dominated the paint, finishing with a 36-20 point advantage down deep. The Falcons far and away dominated UAF in the assists category, establishing 21 overall to the Nanooks' seven.

The Falcons play host again on Saturday at 7 p.m., when they will face No. 7 University of Alaska Anchorage, who was victorious over fellow GNAC foe Northwest Nazarene University tonight in Nampa, Id, by the slimmest of margins, 52-50.
