SEATTLE (Feb. 28) – Rob Will shot a perfect 13 for 13 from the floor and hit both of his free throw attempts for 28 points as Seattle Pacific University downed Alaska Fairbanks 91-77 in Great Northwest Conference action Thursday night at Brougham Pavilion.

Will set a new SPU record for field goal percentage in a single game, passing Darrin Levy (1987) and Falcon Legend Loren Anderson (1958) who each hit 12 of 12 shots.

SPU started slow out of the gate, missing their first four shots from the floor and the free-throw line as UAF jumped out to a 7-0 lead.

Will went to work down low over the next 12 minutes, gaining position on the block and converting easy lay-ins.   He finished with 19 points in the first half hitting nine of his 13 shots from the floor as SPU led 43-34 at the break.

JoJay Jackson slammed home an alley-oop from Jared Moultrie on the opening possession of the second half.  Will added two quick buckets and a free-throw to give the Falcons a 58-45 advantage with 15:25 to play.

UAF hung around behind Colin Matteson and Kevin Campbell who tipped home a miss to bring the Nanooks within nine at 69-60.

SPU used an 11-3 run to put the game away, capped by a three-pointer by Brandon Larrieu to put the Falcons up 87-66.

Jackson finished with 18 points and six rebounds.  Larrieu scored 14 points off the bench while Casey Reed added 13 for the Falcons.

Matteson paced the Nanooks with 23 points, hitting 11 of 12 from the charity stripe. Campbell added 16points and Kevin Atkins chipped in 15 and 8 rebounds.

SPU host 9th ranked Alaska Anchorage on Saturday in “Pack the Pavilion” night, aiming to break the single game attendance record at Brougham Pavilion.
