SEATTLE -- Freshman Richie Evoy scored late in the first half, his first goal for Seattle Pacific, but Humboldt State's Josh Suggs tallied off a counterattack midway through the second half, and the Falcons and Lumberjacks settled for a 1-1 men's soccer tie on Thursday afternoon at Interbay Stadium.

SPU, playing its fourth game in six days -- two of which have gone 20 minutes of overtime -- remained undefeated (2-0-2). Humboldt State also stayed unbeaten (1-0-1).

Evoy (Bend, Ore.) headed in a cross from junior Andy Wolverton (Portland, Ore.), who had received the ball from a short pass by sophomore Danny Brill (Kent, Wash./Kentwood HS). Wolverton's cross brought Lumberjacks goalkeeper Kyle Verle off his line, and Evoy had a wide-open net, sending his header to the back right corner at 43:40.

Suggs tied it for Humboldt State on a counterattack at 62:42. Brian Holmes sent a through ball toward the right side of the box, and Suggs caught up with it, send his shot into the back left corner to send SPU's season-opening shutout streak at 352 minutes.

Within three minutes after Suggs scored, the Falcons had two near-misses: a header off the left post by Elliot Morton (Tacoma, Wash./Bellarmine Prep), and a 40-yarder off the crossbar by Caleb Nyone (Happy Valley, Ore.).

Humboldt State had a chance to win in the first overtime when Suggs sent a shot toward a wide-open net, but SPU's Brandon Kuenzi (Silverton, Ore.) got back in time to kick it out of the goalmouth. Suggs got another try with 2:45 left in the second and final overtime, firing from the top left corner of the six-yard box, but Seattle Pacific goalkeeper got a hand on it to knock it over the line.

Kuehn made five saves altogether.

The Falcons dominated the game, outshooting Humboldt, 26-10, and piling up a 16-4 advantage in corner kicks. The Lumberjacks didn were outshot 14-0 during the first half and didn't get off their first shot until late in the 57th minute.

Seattle Pacific remained undefeated in 13 all-time games against Humboldt State, now owning a 10-0-3 lead in the series.

SPU returns to Interbay on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Chico State.
