SEATTLE – Megan Lindsay scored a goal in each half Thursday for 14th-ranked Seattle Pacific, which increased its lead in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer standings with a 4-0 win over Simon Fraser at Interbay Stadium.

The Falcons (10-2) improved to 7-1 in league play with 21 points. They are three points ahead of Montana State Billings (5-0-3), which played to a tie earlier Thursday. SPU's next opponent, Western Washington, is fourth with 15 points.

Senior Brooke Yokers (Kent, Wash./Kentridge) drew her first career start in goal and took advantage of the opportunity. She stopped two shots to record the team's seventh shutout.

"I thought that we defended extremely well, probably better than I've seen us defend the entire season," Yokers said. "We didn't really give them many chances and I didn't have to do anything much. I'm really proud of our team."

Lindsay (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) opened the scoring in the sixth minute. The junior forward chased down a roller in the box and stole it just as Clan goalkeeper Amelia Ng was gathering the ball. Lindsay tapped the ball into the open goal from 7 yards out.

Less than seven minutes later, Falcons freshman Riley Dopps (Port Orchard, Wash./South Kitsap HS) scored for the second straight game. She collected a throw-in from Josie Graybeal (Gig Harbor, Wash./Gig Harbor HS) on the right side and dribbled toward the goal. From a sharp angle Dopps sent a high blast inside the right post at 13:17. Dopps netted her inaugural collegiate goal on Saturday at Central Washington.

SPU led 2-0 at halftime after out-shooting the Clan 8-0.

Lindsay's second score came on a low 10-yard shot at 52:38 after a through pass from Kelsey Jenkins (Kent, Wash./Kentwood HS). That team-high seventh goal by Lindsay came on Jenkins' sixth assist, a figure that also leads the Falcons.

Yokers is grateful that she doesn't have to face Lindsay in a game situation.

"In practice I hate defending her goal. Megan's got a good shot. She's just so quick and she can hit the ball in a little bit of space. It's incredible."

Junior Brittany Langdon (Irvine, Calif.) concluded the scoring at 82:44 on a header off a deflected shot from teammate Mandy Verdoia (Salt Lake City, Utah.)

Ng was credited with both of Simon Fraser's saves before being replaced at halftime by Taylor Shantz. The Clan (1-9), who were outshot by a 17-4 margin for the game, fell to an 0-8 record in GNAC games.

The Falcons host Western Washington on Saturday at 1 p.m. before embarking on a four-game road trip.
