PORTLAND, Ore. – Senior forward
Megan Lindsay, whose pair of multi-goal games led Seattle Pacific to two victories, received the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award for women's soccer on Monday.
Lindsay netted the opening two goals in the Falcons' 4-2 win at Saint Martin's on Oct. 18. She followed that by accounting for both SPU scores in a 2-0 home victory over Western Oregon on Oct. 20.
A product of Spokane's (Wash.) Gonzaga Prep High School, Lindsay leads the GNAC with 10 goals. Seven of those scores came during the last six games. She compiled at least one goal or assist in each of the past seven games with seven goals and three assists during that stretch.
Lindsay ranks third among all-time SPU scorers with 39 career goals and needs three more to reach 42 and tie Shannon Lovejoy (2002-05) in the No. 2 spot. Sarah Martinez (2004-07) is the school record-holder with 49 goals.
The three-time defending GNAC champion Falcons (12-2-2) are currently in second place with a 9-1-2 league ledger. They trail conference-leading Western Washington (11-1-0) by four points with two regular-season games remaining.
Seattle Pacific won its last seven games and is undefeated in its last 11 outings.
The SPU women conclude the regular season on the road this week. They travel to Burnaby, B.C. to play Simon Fraser on Thursday before visiting Bellingham on Saturday for a clash with first-place Western Washington. Both games start at 7 p.m.
