SEATTLE – Megan Lindsay scored in the first half for Seattle Pacific and Carson McKole netted the equalizer in the second for Central Washington as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer rivals played to a 1-1 tie on Saturday night in front of 961 fans at Interbay Stadium.

The Falcons (5-2-1) and CWU (3-3-2) both saw their conference records move to 2-1-1.

Lindsay (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) opened the scoring with a diving header at 30:38. Falcons' freshman Laura Moore served a bending cross from the right flank that Lindsay directed inside the left post from four yards away.

“That was a beautiful goal, a nice combination play,” said SPU coach Chuck Sekyra. “It was great awareness on Megan's part and she finished with a great diving header.”

Lindsay's third goal of the season was the 32nd of her career, giving her sole possession of third place among all-time SPU scorers. She moved ahead of Jocelyn Charette, who amassed 31 goals from 2007-09. Sarah Martinez (2004-07) is the Falcons' career leader with 49 goals and Shannon Lovejoy (2002-05) is second with 42.

“Megan has been somebody who from day one has been very hungry to score goals and strives to make a difference for us. I'm very proud of her,” Sekyra said.

Moore (Kent, Wash./Kentwood) was credited with her third assist of the season to tie for the team lead with Alexa Diaz. On Wednesday, Moore's flicked header set up Kaylie Winston's game-winning goal with 15 seconds left to play in SPU's 2-1 victory over Western Washington.

The Wildcats evened the score at 73:57 on McKole's 28-yard strike. She spun and shot the ball into the upper left corner after receiving a pass from Lauren Duty.

Junior goalkeeper Natalie Harold (Vancouver, Wash./Heritage) stopped five shots for SPU.

The Wildcats were outshot 24-14, but goalkeeper Kayla Lipston secured the tie with nine saves.

The Falcons return to action on Thursday with a visit to Monmouth, Ore. to play Western Oregon at 3:30 p.m. SPU's next home game is Saturday at 7 p.m. against Saint Martin's.
