SEATTLE – Kristin Conniff scored 11 points, and Tara Knapstein had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds on Friday night as Wisconsin-Parkside opened the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic women's basketball tournament by beating Concordia of Oregon, 65-43.
 
The Ranger (6-3) led from start to finish inside Seattle Pacific University's Royal Brougham Pavilion.
 
Senior guard / forward Knapstein hit 6 of 10 from the field, including 2 of 4 from behind the 3-point arc. She also had four rebounds and handed out two assists.
 
Senior forward Stephanie Furr had an all-around solid game with nine points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals for the Rangers.
 
Lexi Campbell came off the bench to lead Concordia (2-7) with 10 points.
 
Wisconsin-Parkside scored the first five points of the game and quickly forged a double-digit lead at 13-3. Concordia got as close as five at 22-17 with 5:26 left in the first half.
 
But the Rangers put the next 11 points on the board on the way to a 17-point halftime lead at 38-21, and it never dipped below 15 after that.
 
Both teams return to action on Saturday. Concordia takes on Eastern New Mexico at 4:30 p.m. Pacific time, and Wisconsin-Parkside plays host Seattle Pacific at 7:00 p.m.
