Ariana Harger, who achieved the highest score of the season by a Seattle Pacific gymnast on any apparatus with a 9.85 on the floor exercise, was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) women's gymnastics Specialist of the Week on Wednesday.
She tied for fifth place on the floor in the meet against two NCAA Division I powers. Harger surpassed her previous career-high by .05 and now boasts two of the Falcons' top-three marks in that event.
Harger also competed on the vault and received a score of 9.65.
She has been the Falcons top floor performer in four meets this season and the highest vault scorer five times
Harger helped Division II SPU post its third-highest team score of the season with a third-place total of 192.050 on Saturday at Washington in a tri meet that included California.
This is the second MPSF honor for Harger, who prepped at Castro Valley (Calif.) High School. She received the conference Newcomer of the Week award on Feb. 10.
The Seattle Pacific gymnasts host their final home competition of the season on Friday. The dual meet against Air Force starts at 7 p.m. Pacific Time in Brougham Pavilion.
