Four Falcons are All-MPSF Gymnasts

Sydney Clark & Ariana Harger are honored in multiple categories

WOODLAND, Calif. – Four Seattle Pacific gymnasts were named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) team, including senior Sydney Clark who was honored for her excellence in both the all-around and floor exercise.
 
Clark (Eugene, Ore.) boasts a team-high score of 38.800 in the all-around that combines scores from all our individual events. She received a career-best score of 9.875 on Saturday to place second in the floor competition at the MPSF Championship Meet in Anchorage, Alaska.

Ariana Harger
Joining Clark as a floor honoree was Falcons freshman Ariana Harger (Castro Valley, Calif.) who earned a high mark of 9.875 this season. Harger was also recognized for her vault prowess as she owns a score of 9.825 on that apparatus.

Kristi Hayashida
SPU sophomore Kristi Hayashida (Mililani, Hi.) was named to the all-league team for the balance beam. She achieved a career-high score of 9.875 on Saturday to win the conference co-championship.

Tracie Villanueva
Representing the Falcons as an all-league uneven bars performer is sophomore Tracie Villanueva (Kanehoe, Hi.), who tops the team with a score of 9.825 in that event.
 
The Falcons finished fifth at the MPSF meet on Mar. 21 with a score of 192.700.
 
Senior Cami Guyer of San Jose State, the conference all-around champion, was named the Gymnast of the Year.
 
Sacramento State collected the other MPSF awards as Lauren Rice was the honored as Newcomer of the Year, Kim Hughes the Coach of the Year and Andy Solorio the Assistant Coach of the Year.
 
Seattle Pacific competes at the three-day USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships, beginning on Friday, April 10 in Philadelphia, Pa.
 
The Falcons have won three national championships in gymnastics, capturing the 1986 NCAA Division II crown and the 1992 and 1997 titles after USA Gymnastics took over as the sponsor.
