ST. CHARLES, Mo. –
Ariana Harger produced season-high scores in the vault, floor exercise and all-around competitions Friday for Seattle Pacific, which placed fourth in the team standings at the GymQuarters Invitational in Family Arena.

The Falcons compiled their second-highest team score of the season, a mark of 191.00 that fell over two points short of the rest of the field in the four-team event. NCAA Division I Nebraska posted a stellar score of 197.125 for a new season-best. Host Lindenwood, the defending Division II/USAG Collegiate national champion, was second with 194.000 points and Brown was third with 193.350.

Harger (Castro Valley, Calif.) accumulated a four-event figure of 38.725 points, the highest total by an SPU gymnast this season. She tied for fourth with Lindenwood's Ryan Henry.

Nebraska's Jennie Laeng was the all-around champion with 39.350 points, including a first-place mark of 9.875 on the uneven bars. Cornhusker teammate Taylor Houchin was second (39.150) and Brown's Caroline Morant third (38.975).

An SPU junior, Harger tied for fourth on the vault by matching her season-high score of 9.825. She had her three-meet streak of vault wins halted despite coming within 0.75 points the school record of 9.900 that she established last season.

Harger achieved the Falcons' finest floor exercise score of the season, tying for sixth at 9.875. She was the 2016 USAG Collegiate co-champion on the floor last season, a title she won at the nationals in St. Charles.

Sophomore
Itzia San Roman (Burnaby, B.C.) was the Falcons top beam performer, tying for eighth with a 9.725. That was a significant improvement from her previous career best of 9.55 on that apparatus.

Freshman
Darian Burns (Atlanta, Ga.) led SPU on the bars with a 10th-place, career-best score of 9.675.

Nebraska gymnasts swept all four event titles as Megan Schweihofer and Ashley Lambert tied for top honors on the vault (9.900), Danielle Breen won the balance beam (9.925) and Houchin topped the floor field (9.950).

For the fifth consecutive week the vault was the Falcons's highest-scoring event. They amassed a season-high 48.725 points headlined by four scores above 9.70. Along with Harger's 9.825, Burns earned a score of 9.775,
Lauren Glover and 9.750 and
Lena Wirth a 9.725.

The Falcons beam lineup also created a season-best composite tally of 48.250. The counting scores came from San Roman (9.725) Harger (9.675)
Miyuki Matsune (9.650),
Kristi Hayashida (9.625) and Glover (9.575).

On Sunday in St. Charles, the venue changes to Hyland Arena on the Lindenwood campus for a triangular meet that features these same teams, minus Nebraska. SPU, Brown and Lindenwood begin competing at 11 a.m. Pacific Time.
