ANCHORAGE, Alaska – After beating them by 18 points at home last month, the Seattle Pacific Falcons knew they would see a much more focused and determined effort from Alaska Anchorage for Thursday night's road rematch.

Did they ever.

The No. 4-ranked Seawolves went on an early 8-0 run, kept SPU to a season-low offensive output, and rolled to a 73-47 Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball victory in the Alaska Airlines Center.

The previous low score this season for the Falcons (18-6, 12-5 GNAC) was 57 in two games, most recently on Jan. 4 in a 58-57 loss to Northwest Nazarene. The last time they fell short of 50 points was on Feb 20, 2016, in a 70-47 loss to Anchorage in Seattle.

"They came out, and they were the aggressors," head coach Julie Heisey said. "We missed layups, we had turnovers, and we just got frustrated. Part of our frustration was we just didn't hold onto our foundation, which is defense and rebounding.

"Anchorage played like the Anchorage of past."

No one scored in double figures for the Falcons. Junior forward Riley Evans came off the bench for a team-high eight points.

SPU, which led all the way in last month's 66-48 victory at home against the Seawolves, was on top just once Thursday night, at 4-3. From there, UAA (23-2, 16-1 GNAC ran off eight straight points to go in front for good, up 19-11 at the end of one.

The closest the Falcons came after that was 19-14 at the outset of the second quarter. Anchorage strung together another six straight points, keeping Seattle Pacific off the board for 5 minutes, 11 seconds until Carly Rataushk buried a turnaround shot from the right corner to make it 25-16.

The Seawolves responded with a 13-2 run to make it 32-16 and stayed on top by double digits the rest of the way. It was 35-18 at halftime.

Kian McNair led the Seawolves with 16 points.

"They got it going and played hard," Heisey said. "They haven't lost at home this year, and they wanted to defend their home court.

"We've got to learn from this, and we've got to own it and get better the last two weeks of the season."

BY THE NUMBERS
-- Anchorage shot 50 percent or better in each of the first three quarters before cooling off in the fourth, and wound up at 47.7 percent for the game (31 of 65). The Falcons didn't even reach 30 percent in any of the first three periods, but drained 6 of 14 in the fourth to finish the night at 31.5 percent (17 of 54).
-- One of the bright spots for SPU was that each of those 17 baskets was assisted. Evans, Julia Haining, Jaylee Albert, and Hailee Bennett had three apiece.
-- The Seawolves turned things around on the boards with 15 more than the Falcons, 43-28. Last month in Seattle, SPU had a plus-16 advantage, 46-30.
-- They also had a 44-14 scoring bulge in the paint and 19-7 off turnovers.
-- Erica Pagano drained three field goals, including her career 200th. She now has 201.
-- Jordan McPhee put in both of her free throws, Nos. 300 and 301 for her career.
-- SPU is now 2-1 against top-25 teams this season. Along with the earlier win against Anchorage, the Falcons also beat Azusa Pacific.
