SEATTLE – No matter what they tried, the Seattle Pacific Falcons just couldn't make Jeanann Lemelin miss on Saturday afternoon.
Lemelin hit 10 of 12 shots from behind the 3-point line and 11 of 13 overall, scoring 32 points as Montana State Billings beat SPU in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball game in Brougham Pavilion, 91-66.
The Yellowjackets senior got 20 of her points in the second half, with 15 during the fourth quarter.
Falcons senior guard
Hailee Bennett had a big day on Iron Coaching Court as well, pouring in 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field.
Unlike last month's game in Montana that had nine ties and 15 lead changes before SPU went on to win, 69-63, the lead went back and forth just twice on Saturday.
The Falcons (8-18, 6-12 GNAC) went ahead for the only time, 9-8, on a 3-pointer by senior guard Madi HIngston with 4:27 left in the first quarter. The Yellowjackets (14-13, 9-9 GNAC) took it right back on their next possession when Hannah Collins drained a trey.
Montana State Billings scored on its first two possessions after halftime to go up 41-28, and the margin never dipped below double digits the rest of the day.
