A psychology major with a 3.91 grade-point average, Holmberg enjoyed a national-caliber season on the track this past spring. She won the 1500- and 5000-meter titles at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference meet in May, and was named the Women's Track Athlete of the Meet.

Holmberg already had a three academic awards for the 2021 season. She was a CoSIDA Academic All-America second-team selection and was on the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. In addition, she was named to the GNAC All-Academic team for the third time.

After completing her SPU degree, Holmberg is now in a graduate program at the University of Oregon. Because she had athletic eligibility remaining because of the coronavirus pandemic, she will have an opportunity to run both cross country and track for the Ducks.
