SAN FRANCISCO - The Division II Conference Commissioners Associations (D2CCA) announced its Men's Soccer All-West Region team on Tuesday morning, as Seattle Pacific University men's soccer defender
Demian Alvarez earned Second Team Honors.
Â
Alvarez joined
Lars Helleren and
Aidan Thrall with First Team All-GNAC honors announced last Wednesday. Alvarez made 17 starts and played 1,398 minutes. He was efficient, sending seven of his 12 shots on goal for a shots-on-goal percentage of 58.3. He finished the year with four goals, including one game-winner against CUI on Sept. 17.
Â
"Demian is a talented player and has some tremendously special attacking qualities, especially for a center back," head coach
Kevin Sakuda said. "It's a well-deserved honor to be recognized as one of the top defenders in the region."
Â
Alverez was one of just eight student-athletes from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference who earned honors on either the First or Second Team. Sulaiman Bah of CSU Dominguez Hills was named the West Region Player of the Year.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as vital elements of higher education. The CCA is a crucial communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics, and work closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
