SEATTLE – Throughout the summer, the Seattle Pacific sports information team will pose a series of questions to various Falcon athletes. We will feature one athlete each Wednesday. This week, volleyball player Emily Tulino has the mic:

Now that things got back to some sense of normalcy, what was the most memorable part of this past season for you?
"My most memorable off-court memories were made traveling with my teammates and getting to explore some really cool places. When we were in Fairbanks, Alaska, we were all standing outside in the cold, bundled up, waiting to see the Northern Lights because the lady at the front desk said they would show up that night. We never saw them, but it was such a fun moment with my team. Maybe this year. Two of the most memorable wins this season include beating St. Cloud State with a big crowd at home and sweeping Central Washington in our last week of conference play at Central."

"I just cannot wait to compete again. We have trained so hard this winter and spring, so I am very excited to see all we will accomplish this season!"

What are you planning to do this summer – Work? Vacation? Hang out with family? All of the above?
"In June, I went home to hang out with my family and enjoy the sunshine. In July, I am headed to Europe to travel around France and Greece with my teammates, Ashley (Antoniak) and Rosie (Lindsay Rosenthal)."

What is your favorite summertime way to stay in shape and prepare for next season?
"I love lifting, so I will try to do that as much as possible. When I don't have access to a gym, I will run or do some bodyweight workouts."

Most athletes went to a summer sports camp of some kind when they were younger. Did you – and if so, what is your favorite memory from a summer sports camp?
"I have been to a couple of summer camps as a kid. The most memorable one is when my sister and I went to the University of Michigan for overnight volleyball camp because my mom had work in Michigan, so she dropped us off at UMich while she went on to work."

Growing up, what was your favorite thing to do or what was your favorite place to go during the summer – and why was that your favorite?
"My favorite thing to do in the summer is to head down to the beach all day and get a really good sunburn. I just love a good sunburn and playing spikeball and volleyball on the beach."

Someday – maybe sooner, maybe later – what is one place you'd really like to visit, and why that particular place?
"I really want to go to Spain. A dream of mine would be to live there for a couple of years to be immersed in the language and get to travel around the rest of Europe on the weekends."
