CLEVELAND – The Seattle Pacific Falcons keep hauling in academic honors.
SPU has 73 student-athletes who have been named as recipients of a Division 2 Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement award for the 2021-22 school year.
That is up from last year's total of 65, and it includes athletes from all six women's programs and all four men's programs.

Qualifying for the award includes having a minimum 3.50 grade-point average through at least two years of college-level work, and being an active team member during the academic year.
SPU's 73 winners were part of a group of 398 honorees from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
This is the 15th year of the D2 ADA awards. A total of 16,762 student-athletes from 171 schools were on the list.
The Falcons have been collecting numerous awards throughout the summer for their classroom success. The overall women's program won the GNAC Academic All-Sports award for the second year in a row, with cross country and rowing finish atop their respective sports, while track and field, and volleyball tied for first place in their sports. The volleyball, women's basketball and both the men's and women's track and field teams received national awards.
Along with that, five track and field athletes and four rowers earned individual academic honors from their respective coaches associations, and distance runner Annika Esvelt was voted as Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). In addition, 43 athletes were presented with GNAC Faculty Athletic Representative Scholar-Athlete awards.
