SEATTLE – Throughout the summer, the Seattle Pacific sports information team will pose a series of questions to various Falcon athletes. We will feature one athlete each Wednesday. This week, it's women's basketball player
Emilia Bishop.
What was the most memorable part of this past season for you?
"The most memorable part of the season for me was our Pink Night. Coach Karen's pink pant suit will always be memorable."
Looking ahead to next season, what are you most excited about?
" I am really excited for the growth we had this offseason and some of the incoming players. We have a lot more experience and seem to be on the same page about what we want to accomplish."
What are you planning to do this summer – Work? Vacation? Hang out with family? All of the above?
"Once school ends, I will pretty much be home for the summer. I'm going to Philadelphia to visit my sister, then to Georgia to see my grandma before coming back up to Seattle to work at Basketball camps. I am excited to work out this summer and prep for a competitive season."
What is your favorite summertime way to stay in shape and prepare for next season?
"I really like running. I organize pickup games for some of the other female college players in the Portland area. I also do a lot of swimming and hiking."
Growing up, what was your favorite thing to do or what was your favorite place to go during the summer – and why was that your favorite?
"My favorite place is in Southern Oregon, along the Rouge River. My family has gone camping there for as long as I can remember and we have some close family friends who own a raft rental, so we raft, swim, and hike. This year, I am excited because I get to bring my best friends from high school."
Someday – maybe sooner, maybe later – what is one place you'd really like to visit, and why that particular place?
"The top of my list right now is Greece or New Zealand. Greece because "Mamma Mia" is one of my all-time favorite movies and I want to see the architecture and swim in the Mediterranean. New Zealand because it just seems so fantastical and has been on my bucket list forever."
