Wallace's 90th minute Equalizer helps Falcons Tie Wolves

SEATTLE – An own goal in the first half from the Seattle Pacific University women's soccer team had the Falcons trailing Western Oregon for most of the match, but a penalty kick drawn by Andie Buckley and scored by Kayla Wallace in the 90th minute helped SPU tie WOU 1-1 on Thursday evening.

FROM THE COACH
"It was a great game tonight," head coach Arby Busey said. "Both teams had moments where they controlled the game and were able to assert their style of play on their opponent. Western Oregon got in behind our defense in the first half and got a goal. We took a little longer to get going tonight to find our rhythm, but once we did, I thought we were very good. I loved the way we came out in the second half. The women had some great insights for each other at halftime, and they did an amazing job of applying what they learned from the first half. We all felt like a goal was coming in the second half. It took a while for that to happen, but we snuck it in during the last minute. Our attitude was fantastic tonight, and we kept fighting until the final whistle. Finished with a lot of momentum that we'll carry into Saturday's opportunity."
