SEATTLE – The Seattle Pacific University women's basketball team opened its season on its home floor, hosting Cal State LA in the GNAC-CCAA Challenge on Friday night, when a career night from
Grace Turley wasn't enough to overcome a fourth-quarter run from the Golden Eagles, who took the game 75-63.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons shot it well throughout the first quarter against the Golden Eagles.

- SPU went on a 15-7 run that lasted 4:45 during the middle of the quarter, featuring a 6-for-8 performance from the field.

- An 11-3 run from the Golden Eagles over the final 2:34 of the first quarter gave the visitors a 25-22 lead 10 minutes into the game.
- The Cal State LA run continued into the third quarter, when they outscored the Falcons 10-5 over the first 4:42 of the quarter.
- Kara Wilson hit a pair of free throws, while Cascadia Yates splashed home a 3-pointer to pull the Falcons closer to the Golden Eagles.
- Haylie-Anne Ohta closed out the first half with a buzzer-beating layup, which pulled the Falcons within six points of the Golden Eagles at the break.
- The Falcons opened the second half with a 12-0 run that lasted 4:27.

- The Golden Eagles answered with a 12-5 run to close out the third quarter, taking a one-point lead before the final 10 minutes of the game.
