FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Seattle Pacific University women's basketball team traveled to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to play in the NSU Thanksgiving Classic on Friday morning, where host Nova Southeastern took advantage of too many turnovers from the Falcons to take the game 88-69.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons struggled early against the Sharks on Friday morning, as the home team outscored SPU 25-9 in the first 10 minutes of the game.
- The Falcons got it going in the second quarter, hitting four 3-pointers in the final 4:19 of the first half.
- The Falcons had a strong fourth quarter with a 21-11 run in the final 10 minutes of the game.
- Grace Leasure scored eight consecutive points for the Falcons in the middle of the quarter.

- Turnovers proved costly, as the Sharks scored 34 points off 30 turnovers from the Falcons.
- SPU shot 38.2 percent (21-for-55) from the field, including nine made 3-pointers.
- Layne Kearns led the Falcons with 16 points on five made field goals.
- Haylie-Anne Ohta had 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Falcons.
- Grace Turley went 7-for-10 from the free throw line while scoring 12 points in the game.
