BILLINGS, Mont. – They put plenty of opportunities on goal … but just couldn't put one into the goal.
Still, the Seattle Pacific Falcons managed to come away with a result on Saturday afternoon.
Landry Schoennauer and
Celia Ramos combined for a shutout as SPU came away from the second game of a four-game road stretch with a 0-0 tie against Montana State Billings in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer match at Yellowjacket Soccer Field.
That gave the Falcons (7-3-2, 4-2-2—14 points GNAC) four of a possible six points on the road for the week following Thursday's 3-1 victory at Western Oregon.
It also extended Seattle Pacific's unbeaten streak against MSUB to 19 games dating back to 2014 (15-0-4). Seattle Pacific has posted shutouts in 10 of those 19 games.
FROM COACH ARBY BUSEY
"We had chances, we had the ball, but we just couldn't create anything of quality enough to breach the goal," Busey said. "Their goalkeeper was very good when called upon for them."

Along with the saves that keeper Tenley Leffler made, the Yellowjackets defense also factored into SPU's frustrations on offense.
"They were content to kind of just defend resolutely. They were organized and that made things extremely challenging for us to break them down," Busey said. "When we had our moments, their keeper came up big time and time again."
Even so, the Falcons did come away with a win and a tie from two of the toughest places for visiting teams to play – Western Oregon and Billings.
"We're going to feel like we left a lot on the table," Busey said of Saturday's contest. "But at the end of the day, it's a shutout and it's a point on the road. It's what we earned so we'll take it and move on and prepare for two more next week."
