Falcons Extend Unbeaten Streak to Six With 3-1 Win Over Nighthawks

NAMPA, Idaho - Goals from Andie Buckley, Logann Dukes, and Grace Coston powered the Seattle Pacific University women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, extending the Falcons' unbeaten streak to six matches and their unbeaten run against the Nighthawks to eight.

"FROM THE COACH
"Another amazing effort from our women today," head coach Arby Busey said. "Warm day which adds to typical Saturday fatigue. We played a very intelligent match today, moved the ball and let it run! NNU always provides a great challenge and today was no different. But we were up to it today, created some really good chances and did a great job finishing."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a feeling-out process between the Falcons and the Nighthawks, Andie Buckley gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead when she put one into the top right corner of the goal with assists from Ashlyn Valdovinos and Haley Teofilo in the 32nd minute of the match.
  • The Falcons added to their lead quickly when Natalie Carroll assisted on a goal from Logann Dukes that put the Falcons up 2-0 in the 35th minute.
  • SPU owned a 2-0 lead over NNU at halftime.
  • Grace Coston scored the final goal for the Falcons in the 66th minute of the match, with an assist going to Buckley on the goal.
  • NNU's Mylee Carver Moulton scored in the 80th minute of the match, but it was all that the Nighthawks would get as the Falcons took the match 3-1.
