Biography

SPU: One-year letterwinner. Returning for her second year after transferring from the University of Arizona.

Junior (2007-08): Played in 27 of SPU's 30 games, all in a reserve role. Averaged 4.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 13.2 minutes per game. Was the team's third-leading 3-point shooter at 36.6 percent (15 of 41).

Personal: Psychlogy major. ... In addition to starring in basketball, Burns was a state-caliber swimmer during her days at Kennedy High School in Burien, Wash. A sprint freestyler, Burns placed fourth at state in the 50-yard free as a senior, and was on two relay teams that placed.
