Sophomore (2011): INDOOR – Had a breakout season in the weight throw. At the UW Indoor Open on Feb. 13, After not even landing a legal throw in his only previous meet of the season, he heaved his first try 45 feet, 3 inches (13.79 meters) to shatter the SPU school record by nearly 6 1/2 feet (it was 38-10 1/2 / 11.85 meters) and obliterate his old personal best of 34-9 1/2 /10.60 meters by almost 10 1/2 feet. Then, at the GNAC Championships just six days later, Martin was at it again, going 48-7 1/2 (14.82 meters) for another school record, PR, and a ninth-place finish, as well. OUTDOOR –  In fIn In first year of throwing the javelin, placed 3rd (189-2, a personal best) and 13th in hammer (134-3) at GNAC Championships. ... Competed in both hammer and javelin through the regular season, with top placing of 2nd in javelin at the JD Shotwell Invitational on April 2 and the Saint Martin's Invitational on April 30, and 3rd in the hammer at the UPS Outdoor Preview on March 5.

Freshman (2010): INDOOR – Competed in shot put in two meets, with a 25th-place finish at UW Indoor Open. Also did weight throw at UW Indoor Preview. OUTDOOR – Qualified for GNAC Championships in the hammer, but did not get a mark.
