Allie Ostrander is starting her second year as a volunteer assistant coach with the Falcons, having come aboard in the fall of 2020.
Ostrander won three consecutive NCAA 3000-meter steeplechase championships while at Boise State University, accomplishing that feat in 2017-18-19. In June 2021, she competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field in Eugene, taking eighth place with a personal-best time of 9 minutes, 26.96 seconds.
It was her second Olympic Trials in the steeple, having also placed eighth in 2016.
While that is her top event, Ostrander also has had considerable success on the cross country course. The native of Kenai, Alaska. As a Boise State freshman in 2015, she won the Mountain West Conference and the NCAA Division I West Region titles. As a senior as Kenai Central High School in 2014, Ostrander was first across the finish line at the Nike National Cross Country Championships
That carried over to the indoor track during the winter of 2016 when Ostrander ran the 1600-meter anchor leg on the Broncos’ 4000-meter distance medley relay team that captured the Mountain West crown.
