The original record of 9.6 was a hand-held mark for 100 yards set by Roy Duncan in 1958. Thr converted mark (adding 0.9 to go from yards to meters, and plus 0.24 to go from hand-held to fully automatic) meant that the time to beat was 10.74. Ran 10.59 on April 19 at the CWU Wildcat Invitational in Ellensburg, but the tailwind was a +7.3 -- way above the allowable +2.0 for record purposes. Gets to keep the 10.59 as his personal best.
