Ellen Smith is in her second full year at Seattle Pacific University, working as an assistant coach with the women's gymnastics team while also serving as the interim strength and conditioning coach for all Falcons sports.
She is a certified strength and conditioning coach and also active in powerlifting.
Smith began working at SPU in the spring of 2018 as the strength and conditioning coach for the gymnasts. She continued that endeavor while adding assistant coaching duties for the Falcons in the summer of 2018.
Smith was named the the Falcons interim strength and conditioning coach in the fall of 2019 and continues to serve in the role.
Before coming to Seattle Pacific, she coached club gymnastics for three years, from 2016-18.
A 2013 graduate of Snohomish High School, 35 miles north of Seattle, Smith attended college at Seattle Pacific. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in exercise science and has put that degree to good use both in the gym and the weight room.
In her free time, Smith participates in powerlifting and competed in the USA Powerlifting nationals in both 2018 and 2019.
