One of the world’s most respected javelin coaches is Duncan Atwood, now in his third year with the SPU staff.
Atwood twice made the U.S. Olympic team (1980, ’84), won two Pan American Games gold medals in the javelin and three (’79, ’80, ’87) American championships.
Prior to joining the Falcons, Atwood coached at his alma mater, Washington, for four seasons. He owns the UW record of 280-8 and finished as high as third in the NCAA Championships.
