"I always wanted to be the first student allowed to use the play toys and swings, so I gained my competitive spirit for running from that." Joined her first track team in 4th grade because her older sister was already running track. ... Also has done soccer and basketball. ... Her high school 4-by-400 relay got a chance in the National Scholastics Athletic Federation (NSAF) Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene and earned All-American recognition, then took 2nd place at the USA Track & Field (USATF) nationals in Sacramento. ...
