SEATTLE – (NOV 3) In true form, Alyssa Given struck the final kill for the Seattle Pacific Volleyball team in the third game Saturday afternoon against Central Washington University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball match, putting a halt to the longest single game rally in the team's 2007 campaign, 35-33.

The Falcons (14-10, 9-7), nearly blew a two to nothing game lead over the Wildcats (11-14, 10-6) down 25-29 in the third game, but strung together a 5-0 run to force the win-by-two game into extra innings, eventually sweeping CWU 30-22, 30-24, and 35-33.

In her final performance in front of her home crowd, Given struck with a fury against CWU, racking up a co-match best 17 kills, and 11 digs. Fellow senior Rachel Biornstad tied Given in kills with 17, while hitting at a .452 clip, with the third and final SPU senior, Angie Wodrich, hitting for six kills, two aces, and eight digs.

Given now has 418 kills on the season, and needs exactly 50 more to tie the GNAC career kills mark.

Nikki Finley has another solid outing for SPU, soaring and smashing down 10 kills and four digs, while Torii Mount led all players with 26 digs.

Rachael Schurman led her team with 14 kills and six blocks on a .522 hitting percentage, while Erika Stevens had a team high 23 digs. Erin Norris kept the match alive for CWU in the final game, amassing three of the Wildcats' final four points, giving her nine for the match.

The Falcons led for the first five points of game three, but were surpassed by Central who led by as many as five, only to overtake the Wildcats when they were at game point by way of a Wodrich service ace, and four attack errors on CWU.

SPU now goes on the road to finish their 2007 season, against Montana State Billings (16-9, 8-7) and cross-town rival Seattle University (10-13, 7-8) on Thursday and Saturday night respectively.
