SEASIDE, Calif. -- Senior midfielder Meredith Teague scored the first two goals Thursday, sending the ninth-ranked Seattle Pacific women on their way to a 3-0 non-conference win over Notre Dame de Namur at Otter Soccer Complex.

The Falcons (5-0-1) netted all three goals inside the opening 16 minutes and cruised to their fifth consecutive victory. SPU blanked its third straight opponent.

Notre Dame's record fell to 2-4. Although not part of a tournament, the game was played at a neutral site on the Cal State Monterey Bay campus.

A product of Bellevue (Wash.) Christian High School, Teague converted the first shot of the contest, at 2:07. She launched a 35-yard laser from the right side that traveled over the goalkeeper and into the upper corner of the goal.

Teague found the net again at 7:22 on a strike from the top of the box that carried into the left side of the goal.

Those were the first goals of the season for Teague, who usually specializes in setting up her teammates. She leads SPU with five assists, one year after establishing a new Great Northwest Athletic Conference single-season record with 16 assists.

Freshman forward Brandi Hamre (Bremerton, Wash./Central Kitsap) capped the scoring with her first collegiate goal. Junior Kayla Stiegemeier (Rathdrum, Idaho) dribbled down the right flank and sent a pass across the goalmouth. From the center of the goal, Hamre re-directed the pass into the net from six yards out at 15:22.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Dickinson (Vancouver, Wash./Skyview) registered two saves to collect her third shutout and the Falcons' fourth.

Starter Kelsey Baxter had three saves and surrendered all three goals during the first half for the Argonauts, who were out shot 10-5. Reserve Kalia DeMarquez played a scoreless second half, making one save.

Thursday's win gave the Falcons a 2-0 record on their first road trip of the season.

“We accomplished what we set out to do,” said Coach Chuck Sekyra, who registered his 100th career victory with Tuesday's 1-0 win at Cal State Monterey Bay. “It's nice to have two successful games and put this road trip behind us.”

The SPU women return home Monday to complete the non-conference portion of the slate. They host Dixie State for a 3 p.m. game at Interbay Stadium.

“We have a huge game Monday with Dixie,” said Sekyra. “We need to finish our non-league games strong.”

The Falcons open GNAC play on the road, visiting Western Washington on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.
