SEATTLE – The Montana State Billings Yellowjackets slammed 13 more kills than Seattle Pacific on Saturday night and went on to sweep the Falcons in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball match.

Scores in Brougham Pavilion were 25-23, 25-13, 25-19.

Jessica Miller led SPU (11-12, 5-9 GNAC) with eight kills. Madi Cavell and Hannah Lautenbach added five apiece. But the Falcons finished with a season-low 25.

Alaina Gentili had nine of MSUB's 38 kills.

Senior setter Kendall Carver had 14 assists for Seattle Pacific. Junior libero Breanne Wiekamp came up with 12 digs, and senior libero Brianna Leenders had 11. Leenders moved past 1,500 digs for her career, now totaling 1,508. She needs 45 in the final four matches to take over the No. 2 spot on the school's list for career digs.

Montana State Billings (11-11, 6-8 GNAC) jumped ahead early in all three games. SPU rallied in the opener, going up 20-19 and then 21-20. Then, the Falcons came from two points down to tie it at 23-23 before the Yellowjackets got the last two.

Except for a 1-1 tie, Billings was in control of Game 2 from start to finish. Seattle Pacific was down just 11-10 in Game 3 when MSUB went on a 9-2 run to take command at 20-12.

SPU limited the Yellowjackets to just .175 hitting for the match, the eighth time this season the defense kept an opponent below.200. But the Falcons hit just .008.

The final two home matches of the season are next week. Central Washington comes in on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m., and Northwest Nazarene visits next Saturday with a special 1 p.m. start time. The contest against nationally ranked NNU will be Senior Day. Sara Biondi, Carver, Cavell, Leenders, and Miller will be honored in a ceremony prior to the match.
