SPU starts with a first-round matchup versus No. 2 seed BYU-Hawaii on Friday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m. at the Felix Event Center on the Azusa Pacific campus. The 16th-ranked Seasiders (24-5) won their last six games. They finished fourth in the regular-season standings before storming through the PacWest Tournament with three consecutive victories, capped by an 84-79 title-game triumph over California Baptist. These two teams met earlier this season, on Nov. 22 at BYU-Hawaii. SPU let an 11-point halftime lead slip in an 87-74 loss.

The winner of that game will meet the survivor of the clash between top seed Azusa Pacific (24-5) and No. 8 Western Oregon (23-6), the GNAC regular-season titlist. The regional championship game is set for Monday, Mar. 16 at 7 p.m. The first three rounds will be played in Azusa.
