SEATTLE – Lexi Biondi and Hannah Lautenbach each had double-digit kills on Saturday night, but Northwest Nazarene bounced back from a slow start to score a four-game victory against Seattle Pacific in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball match.
 
Scores in Brougham Pavilion were 17-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.
 
Senior outside hitter Biondi (Albuquerque, N.M.) had 17 kills, just one away from her season high, and hit .245. Junior opposite Lautenbach (Portland, Ore.) had 14 kills and hit .293. She also came up with nine digs.
 
Sophomore libero Amanda Ganete (Hillsboro, Ore.) led the Falcons (9-13, 5-9 GNAC) with 22 digs. Sophomore setter Symone Tran (Portland, Ore.) racked up 47 assists.
 
SPU led all the way in the opening game, thanks primarily to 18 kills and a .533 hitting percentage, with just two errors on 30 attacks.
 
The second game was tied at 11-11 when Northwest Nazarene (16-5, 9-5 GNAC) went on an 8-0 run to take charge.
 
NNU did it again in the third game, ringing up seven straight points to snap a 16-16 tie.
 
The Crusaders then scored the first five points of Game 4 on the way to an 8-2 lead. Seattle Pacific got as close as three at 13-10. It was still just a four-point difference at 18-14 when Northwest Nazarene put another five in a row on the board.
 
Madi Farrell had 23 kills and hit .568 for NNU, which finished with 65 kills and hit .288 (65-20-156). The Falcons hit .212 with 51 kills (51-18-156).
 
SPU is on the road for the next four matches, starting on Tuesday at Saint Martin's in Lacey. First serve is at 7:00 p.m.
