NAMPA, Idaho – Gabby Oddo had 10 kills, and Gabi Stegemoller added eight in her third error-free match of the season, but No. 13-ranked Northwest Nazarene built sizable early leads in all three games to sweep Seattle Pacific in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball match on Saturday night.
 
Scores in the Johnson Sports Center were 25-16, 25-19, 25-21.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Oddo was in double-digit kills for the 19th time in 24 matches, and hit .259 for SPU (12-12, 7-9 GNAC). She delivered two service aces.

Gabi Stegemoller
Freshman middle blocker Stegemoller got her eight kills on 17 attacks, and finished at .471 hitting. She also had three total blocks.
 
Up 6-3 in the first game, Northwest Nazarene ran off four straight points, part of a 7-1 run that expanded its lead to 13-4. Seattle Pacific never got closer than six.
 
The Nighthawks ran off five straight points in Game 2, turning a 4-3 deficit into an 8-4 lead, and stayed in front the rest of the way.
 
In Game 3, NNU was up 11-5 when the Falcons found a spark, and ran off seven straight points, the last six with senior middle blocker Hannah Lautenbach on the serve, to go up 12-11. With the game tied at 15-15, the Nighthawks put three straight on the board. Seattle Pacific got back within one on four occasions, the last time at 21-20.
 
Junior setter Symone Tran had 31 assists, pushing her season total to 959.
 
Madi Farrell was one of three players in double-digit kills for Northwest Nazarene (22-2, 14-2 GNAC). She hit a phenomenal .824, with no errors on 17 attacks. She also had seven total blocks.
 
NNU, which had to come from 2 games to 1 down for a five-game victory last month in Seattle, hit .337 on Saturday, with 45 kills and just 10 errors on 104 attacks. The Falcon hit just .147 (37-20-116).
 
The Falcons wind up the home portion of their schedule this coming week. Western Washington visits on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The Brougham Pavilion finale is next Saturday against Simon Fraser at 4:00 p.m. Seniors Colleen Hannigan, Sophie Kuehl, and Lautenbach will be honored prior to the match against the Clan.
