The tune-up game against the NCAA Division I Huskies served as a season opener of sorts for the Division II Falcons, who start their regular season on the road against eighth-ranked Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 9.

Wooten, a senior forward, hit 7 of 15 shots from the field, including 2-for-3 accuracy from 3-point range.

Seattle Pacific had its hands full early with the Huskies trademark matchup zone as the first three possessions ended in steals by the inhospitable hosts. UW reeled off 11 unanswered points to start the game before Long converted a layup 3:10 into the game for the first Falcon points.

SPU staged a comeback and, after a turnover from Thybulle, got Colosimo jumper that tied the game at 15-15. SPU gained its first lead when Nathan Streufert hit a hook shot with 8:59 showing on the clock.

The Huskies went scoreless for almost seven minutes before Thybulle hit a 3 pointer. SPU capitalized on that drought to go on a 15-0 run and build its largest lead of the game at 25-18 after a Simpson trey.

The Falcons took a 27-26 lead into halftime despite not making a field goal for the last 4:13 of the half.

Nowell had nine points at the half to lead the Huskies.

Washington went on a quick 5-0 run to start the second half and reclaim the lead. Long was called for a technical foul, which the Huskies converted into a free throw. After a layup in transition from Harry Cavell, the Huskies hit back-to-back treys to extend their margin to 37-29 before Colosimo answered with his own 3-pointer.

Another technical foul was whistled with 16:32 remaining in the game, this time to UW's Dominic Green. Sharif Khan sank one of the ensuing free throws and Wooten hit a 3-pointer to cap a 7-0 run and trim the deficit to 37-36.

Wooten evened the game at 40-40 after making back-to-back layups with 12:19 remaining. A goaltending call on a Sam Boone jumper gave the Falcons a 42-40 lead.

UW's Crisp converted two free throws to level the score and a Nowell jumper at 10:48 forged a 44-42 edge.

Long answered for SPU with a tying jumper in the key, but Sam Timmins responded with a layup for the Huskies.

The next possession saw senior Nikhil Lizotte hit a 3-pointer that provided the Falcons final lead of the night, 47-46, with 9:09 left to play.

Washington tallied the next five points, on a Nowell put-back and trey by Carter, to grab ahold of the lead for good.

The Huskies gradually stretched that margin to a high of 13, at 69-56, when Crisp hit a 3-pointer with 39 seconds remaining.

Simpson answered with a trey of his own and a put-back layup by Wooten brought the margin back into single digits, at 69-61, before Thybulle capped the scoring with a UW free throw.
