Falcons fall to WWU in Finales

Vikings take both ends of volleyball doubleheader; SPU finishes spring at 11-7

BELLINGHAM, Wash. --- Hannah Hair had 24 kills in two matches combined, but Seattle Pacific dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Western Washington on Saturday to wrap up its spring volleyball schedule.
 
The Vikings won the opener in four sets, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20. It was another four-setter for WWU in the second match, this time by scores of 25-23, 27-25, 23-25, 25-23.
 
SPU, which swept Western Washington on Friday night for the first time since 2009, concluded its season with an 11-7 record.

Freshman middle blocker Hair slammed 11 kills and had just two errors on 25 attacks for a .360 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter Maddie Batiste and junior outside hitter Erin Gould added nine kills apiece. But Seattle Pacific hit just .093 as a team.
 
Redshirt freshman outside hitter Lindsay Rosenthal came up with a team-leading 19 digs, just one shy of her career high. Batiste had 14 digs.
 
Hair also was busy on the block with five total, including a solo.
 
Match 2
Hair was even more on target in the second match than she was in the opener. She led the way with 13 kills with just one errors on 21 attacks for a .571 percentage.
 
Redshirt freshman opposite Maddie Pruden added 10 kills and hit .233.
 
Sophomore setter Lindsey Lambert logged her team-high ninth double-double of the season, this one with 37 assists and 17 digs.
 
Hair finished the season with a .340 hitting percentage. That ranked No. 2 in the conference, just six percentage points behind the .346 of Western Washington's Olivia Fairchild.
 
It was the highest hitting mark by a Falcon since 2012 when freshman Jackie Arnold hit .362.
 
With nine total blocks on Saturday, Hair finished with the top average in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. She had 90 for the season (seven solo) for an average of 1.34 per cent. WWU's Fairchild averaged 1.31 per set.
