SEATTLE – Throughout the summer, the Seattle Pacific sports information team will pose a series of questions to various Falcon athletes. We will feature one athlete each Wednesday. This week, volleyball player
Hannah Hair has the mic:
Now that things are seemingly heading back toward some sense of normal, what is one thing you're really looking forward to?
"One thing that I am so excited about is having fans back in the gym! I didn't realize how much they change the feel of the gym until this year."
Hannah Hair
"With everything being as unusual as it was this year, what was the most memorable part about the season for you?
"The most memorable part of this season for me would be all of the many fun different adventures the team came up with this year. Although things didn't look like we were expecting, I think that we as a program did a great job of making the most of our situation and still making it a crazy fun year."
Looking ahead to next season, what are you most excited about?
"I am extremely excited to compete again with the team and to be able to really travel and see a few different GNAC opponents that we didn't get the chance to see this year."
What are you planning to do this summer – Work? Vacation? Hang out with family? All of the above?
"I am actually heading out on a three-week road trip through the national parks with my cousin for the first part of summer, then I will be heading home to work for the rest of it."
What is your favorite summertime way to stay in shape and prepare for next season?
"This summer I will be doing a ton of hiking along the road trip, but weightlifting is definitely my go-to workout."
Most athletes went to a summer sports camp of some kind when they were younger. Did you – and if so, what is your favorite memory from a summer sports camp?
"I didn't actually go to a ton of camps as a kid. But when I came to an SPU volleyball summer camp after I committed my junior year, I remember Jaeden Hooker and
Gabi Stegemoller trying to teach us all how to play fishbowl one night and it all just being chaos."
Growing up, what was your favorite thing to do or your favorite place to go during the summer – and why was that your favorite?
"My dad had a cabin on this lake up in Tollgate, Oregon and we would always spend some time up there fishing, boating, hiking, or four-wheeling. I have a ton of fun memories from then!"
Someday – maybe sooner, maybe later – what is one place you'd really like to visit – and why that particular place?
I have always wanted to go to Skopelos, Greece because that is where "Mamma Mia" was filmed! As a kid, and even now, "Mamma Mia" is my favorite movie ever. And on top of that, Greece is just crazy beautiful."
