Yriondo's First Career Goal Not Enough against Vikings

BELLINGHAM, Wash – Cameron Yriondo scored his first career goal for the Seattle Pacific University men's soccer team against Western Washington on Saturday, but the Falcons couldn't match the Vikings as they fell 3-1 in Bellingham.

The Falcons were chasing a goal before they got one to go in the 32nd minute. Conor Tollan played a ball into Yriondo who used his head to score from close range. The goal is the first of Yriondo's tenure with the Falcons.

The Falcons and the Vikings were evenly matched throughout Saturday's contest. SPU had an advantage in shots on goal (5-4) over WWU. The Falcons spent the entire match on the attack. They created nine chances from corner kicks to just five from the Vikings. As dangerous as the Falcons have been all season on set pieces, they couldn't find one during this match. Despite advantages, the Vikings found a way to score two goals in the final 15 minutes to take the match.

In the 77th minute, Allesandro Tomasi benefited from a pass from Johan Espinoza that led to the goal that gave the Vikings the advantage. They'd add on in the 82nd mind when Espinoza scored a goal off a pass from Eric Bunnell.

The Falcons are in action on Thursday in Lacey, Wash. in a match against Saint Martin's that kicks off at 3 p.m.
