ANCHORAGE, Alaska, - The Seattle Pacific University men's basketball team saw five players score in double-figures on their way to a crucial conference victory over Alaska Anchorage by a final score of 90-87 on Saturday night.

Grant Leep said. "We came out tonight with great energy and executed our offensive game plan well."Â
A total team effort lifted the Falcons over the Seawolves on Saturday night.
Zack Paulsen led the way with a team-high 20 points on an efficient 7-for-10 field goal attempts. Paulsen pulled down four rebounds and dished out two assists.
Shaw Anderson had 19 points on 5-for-8 shooting. Anderson went 8-for-9 on free throw attempts.

Syon Blackmon, and
Kelton Samore finished in double figures, helping the Falcons finish on top. The team went 32-for-52 from the field (63.5 percent) and made sic 3-pointers throughout the contest.
"We were able to get the ball inside to Kelton, Shaw, and
Trace Evans and they did a great job of making the right reads," Leep added. "Then we found some great plays in transition and timely cuts from Zack, Syon, and Ben. Tonight, all 12 guys on our bench brought so much energy and they lifted each other down the stretch. This is such a difficult trip, it's nice to come home with a win."Â
The game was a battle between the Falcons and the Seawolves. Very late in the first half, the two teams were tied at 44-44 with 54 seconds to play. Blackmon converted a tough and-one to put the team up by three. He hit a 3-pointer late in the second half, as a shot 6-0 run in the final minute gave the SPU a 50-44 lead at the half.Â
A 3-pointer from
Maui Sze early in the second half extended the SPU lead to nine points. The Falcon's lead was erased with 13:42 to go in the game. A short run capped by a layup from Anderson gave the Falcons a nine-point lead with 10:52 to play.Â
Anderson nailed a 3-pointer with 8:29 left in the game, giving SPU a 78-64 lead. The Seawolves stormed back to cut the lead to a point with seven seconds left. It wasn't enough, as two clutch free throws from Blackmon secured the game and helped the Falcons escape Anchorage with a 90-87 victory.Â
The Falcons return to Royal Brougham Pavilion on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as they host Evergreen State.Â
