PORTLAND, Ore. – Whether it's August or November,
Hannah Hair is regarded as among the best of the best in Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball.
For the second year in a row, the Seattle Pacific middle blocker has been voted to the GNAC's Preseason All-Conference team.
A junior and a returning All-GNAC, All-Region, and All-American player, the 6-foot-1 Hair led the conference in hitting last fall with a .333 mark and was No. 2 in blocking at 1.35 per set.
Hannah Hair

Her hitting mark included a career-high .727 (8 kills-0 errors-11 attacks) in a home match against Western Oregon. Of the 25 matches she played, Hair hit .300 or better in 13 of them.
Hair finished with 115 total blocks, including 13 solos. Twice, she came up with kill-block double-doubles: 12 kills and 11 blocks at home against Central Washington, then 11 kills and 10 blocks at home against Alaska Fairbanks.
At the end of the 2021 season, Hair was voted to the All-GNAC first team, but that was just the start. She earned a spot on the All-West Region honorable mention team as determined by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, then was named an AVCA honorable mention All-American.
Hair also had the uncommon distinction of winning a GNAC Offensive Player of the Week and a Defensive Player of the Week award, becoming just the 11
th player in the history of the conference to win both awards in the same season.
She also shines academically, earning a place on the GNAC All-Academic team and the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.
Senior outside hitter Gabby Gunterman of Western Washington was voted as the Preseason Player of the Year.
The Falcons, who earlier this week were picked No. 5 in the GNAC preseason coaches poll, open the season at the Concordia St. Paul-St. Cloud State Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26-27, in Minnesota.
