Falcons Host Douglas College on Friday

SEATTLE – It'll be another game inside Royal Brougham Pavilion for the Seattle Pacific University men's basketball team when they host Douglas College for a nonconference game on Friday at 7 p.m.

MAKING HISTORY
Shaw Anderson scored 43 points over two games last weekend. The performance catapulted him higher on the all-time scoring leaderboard. His career total is now 1,537, moving him into fifth. He passed Harry Cavell's (2018-2022) 1,510 points, Howard Heppner's (1962-66) 1,521 points, and Jim Ballard's (1970-73) 1,530 points. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Falcons opened Great Northwest Athletic Conference play last Thursday night against Alaska Fairbanks, who gave the Falcons fits and went on to take the game 82-64.
 
Anderson had another standout game for the Falcons on Thursday. He led all scorers with 23 points while shooting 8-for-17 from the field. He knocked down two 3-pointers and went 5-for-6 from the free throw line. Anderson had eight rebounds and three assists.
 
Maui Sze scored 11 points in his return to the Falcons last Thursday. Trace Evans scored nine points, while Kyle Luttinen and Jonas La Tour each scored eight points.
 
The Falcons got the effort they needed against #23 Alaska Anchorage last Saturday afternoon, as the tightly contested game that featured seven ties and 10 lead changes between the Falcons and Seawolves resulted in an 80-75 win for the home team.
 
Anderson scored a game-high 20 points, six rebounds, and three assists. He was joined by Owen Moriarty, and Evans in double-figure scoring. Moriarty finished with 17 points on 5-for-7 shooting and a 7-for-10 performance from the free throw line. He had three assists and two rebounds. Evans scored 15 points on an ultra-efficient 7-for-8 shooting.
 
Jadin Penigar was huge on the glass for the Falcons, leading everyone with 11 rebounds. The Falcons pulled down 31 rebounds to 27 from the Seawolves.
 
STANDOUT STATISTICS
Anderson ranks second in the GNAC in scoring with 19.2 points per game. Western Washington's Kai Johnson currently leads the league with 21.1 points per game. Evans has been one of the conference's most efficient scorers. His field goal percentage of 61.3 is the second-best in the GNAC. 
 
Luttinen ranks third in the conference in made 3-pointers. He's knocking down 2.3 per game. La Tour has been splashing home 3-pointers at a 46.9 percent clip. The percentage ranks him fifth in the conference. 
 
Evans and Penigar are tied for ninth in the GNAC with 6.1 rebounds per game. Anderson's five rebounds per game has him as a top 20 rebounder in the conference at 17th.
